Palomo Travels from Spain to Pompeii
Buried under the gray of the ashes and the volcanic rock of Mount Vesuvius, lies a distant civilization of Palomo boys who have been subjected to a deep lethargy over many centuries. Photography Courtesy of Pelonio PR.
Palomo Spain’s Spring/Summer 2020 Menswear Collection happened in Paris on June 18th, 2019. Paying tribute to that great Roman city that was destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius, Mr. Palomo aims to start the conversation + connection between past, present, & future. As always...the clothes represent the very best of what bold, flamboyant, confident, & effeminate men of style, elegance, & dash should be sashaying around in. Vibrant & electrifying colors and exquisite detail work are showcased through lace, pocketing, & embroidery. There was a great use of diversity and to be expected: an overall air of optimism and relentless revolution!
Mr. Alexander Gomez Palomo is a native Spanish gentleman who is redefining the way modern men of style express themselves. He has consistently led this revolution of genderfluid dressing and allows effeminate men to embrace this chaotic world with an armor of pizzazz, dash, & sheer elegance. This collection and all his previous works contribute to the ever-expanding essence of CAMP culture. According to the Cordovan designer, his intention with Pompeii is “to recover a culture that has been lethargic under the ashes of Pompeii, to make a direct parallel with menswear of the last few decades".
The way this

is forming around
these leather
bags, and these string lace details draping exquisitely across these wide-leg trousers are high art. These delicate fringe details on this blazer below are also magnificent. It is an excellent example of color blocking.
The accessories of the collection enhance the looks with printed maxi bags, headdresses, balaclava, and charms, in addition to the jewels of anGostura, created for this occasion.
There is nothing like an extravagant take on a classic white shirt such as the one featured. It is architecturally structured in a way that simply hasn’t been done before. Palomo proves yet again how he has a deep understanding of contemporary menswear and classic tailored uniform dressing, but spins it into a fashionable way forward for the future.
