On September 14th, at 5:00 pm in the Gallery of the Crystal Palace Madrid Cibeles, Spanish designer Miguel Becer presented his uber-fluid and super chic Spring/Summer 2018 collection. His brilliant mind produced super-wearable outfits that glided down the runway in rich and passionate colors and silhouettes. I could see any "fashion girl" that resides in Spain (or anywhere) gliding down those beautiful city streets in every single one of these looks. The shoes were grungy yet still feminine. The skirts were filled with an abundance of details that are sure to empower any woman. The hats were just the right amount of drama and elegance.
“The designer decided to base his inspiration and discourse on the path towards the overcoming of a loss, the recovery from a process of mourning, the resignation, and the acceptance, which end up ridding us of pain and make us keep the good memories.”
Also some greyish shades
- such as ash grey and light blues and greens - make their appearance on satin and damask fabrics but also denim, while sharing the scene with some pink and cardinal red total looks.
The garments stand out for their subtle stiffness and for being combined in a way that gives them an inverted triangular silhouette. Mixing the slim fit with the oversized, the designer creates a collection with multiple possibilities.
Designer Miguel Bercer has created a stylish universe filled with sensational, sartorial, and architectural juxtapositions. Oversized grey oxford shirts with high-waisted checked skirts with volume. Take away each piece of the puzzle, and there are looks to be treasured and worn both individually and altogether (if one dares). Either way, the ways to wear each look are endless in MANEMANE’s unique diaspora of dress.
